Parkview Housing is located on Baxter Street across from the UGA Student Housing buildings, Russell and Creswell Hall. This neighborhood is a part of Athens Housing Authority, which handles low-income public housing. The children who live in the homes are districted to Alps Road Elementary, Clarke County Middle, and Clarke Central High. When it comes to food availability, the closest grocery store is a Kroger, which is located almost 2 miles away. Although there is a Dollar General at a closer distance, all groceries cannot be found here. For example, they do not have much produce. In the same area as Kroger, there is also a Fresh Market, however, the items sold here can often be quite pricey. The nearest "restaurants" to Parkview Housing are Pizza Hut, Papa Johns, Wingster, Jimmy Johns and Canes. All of which are relatively inexpensive, but not nutritional.
